Welcome to Troop 101
Troop 101 Overnighter
Attached is the sign-up form for the 2012 Troop 101 Overnighter at the University of Illinois ARC Center. We will be rock climbing, swimming, watching Movies, playing dodge ball, eating food, and most importantly NOT SLEEPING!!!!!!!!
One of the highest rated events of the year - DON'T miss out. Deadline is Tuesday, February 7th for form and payment.
We will need plenty of adult volunteers throughout the night. We can split up shifts OR BE BRAVE and join the Adults vs. Scouts Dodgeball game (truly one of my highlights from last year). We will also coordinate the swim test for summer camp.
Thanks and we will see you there,
Bob Wilczynski
Holy Cross Merit Badge SeminarHi Everyone, The Holy Cross Merit Badge seminar is scheduled for Saturday, March 3rd. If your scout is interested in attending please read the details below and bring all forms to next Tuesday’s meeting! As with all our events we need adult volunteers to supervise. This is a full day event (opening ceremony begins at 7:15 a.m. and the event runs until 5:00 pm). The cost is $25 ($10 for adults taking classes). Lunch is included in your registration. Information can be seen at: http://hcbsa.org/MBSFAQs.aspx This requires a quick turnaround! The deadline to sign up is next Tuesday the 10th. Please bring the following to the meeting: 1. The attached Troop 101 permission slip with ALL information filled in (please note that this permission slip asks for some new information not normally requested). 2. Your $25 check made out to troop 101 (I can’t register you without payment). Review the attached merit badge class schedule and select your top 3 merit badge choices (for morning) and your top 3 choices for afternoon. Fill these in on the attached permission slip. · Certain classes require advance preparation. As the name implies, this work must be done before arriving at the seminar. Be realistic! Don't sign up if you are too busy to do the work. Details can be seen at: http://hcbsa.org/InstructorCorner.aspx · It is up to you what badges you choose. However, first or second year scouts who have not yet earned the following badges are encouraged to sign up for them at Holy Cross: fingerprinting, fire safety and first aid. I will be at next Tuesday’s meeting (announcement time) to collect these forms but I have to leave shortly thereafter so please turn in your form immediatley upon arrival. Keep me posted if you have any questions. Sorry for the late notice but I just volunteered today, to handle this. Julie Shapland Klondike DerbyYes, Troop 101 - you read that right. 2012 is right around the corner and so that means the Klondike Derby cannot be too far away. January 28, 2012, is the date of the Klondike Derby out at Camp Drake and we want to announce sign-ups for Scouts to begin ASAP. Early bird deadline is January 10th. Please see the attached flyer to sign-up. 2012 Recharter for ScoutsGood evening - Attached is the "Scout" form necessary to complete Troop 101's recharter. What this means is that if your son wishes to renew his membership in Boy Scout Troop 101 for 2012, this form must be completed and returned to me. The cost to renew your scout's membership in Troop 101 is as follows: Scout fees: $45/scout if sent to my home address and postmarked by Dec 21, 2011 $55/scout if postmarked after December 21st All forms are due to me by January 5, 2012. This means that ALL forms will need to be mailed to my home address after this week's meeting as I will not be at the December 13th meeting and there will be no scheduled troop meetings over the holiday break . The deadlines for this recharter are determined by the timing I need in order to complete the Troop, Crew and Venturing recharter deadlines to nationals. If you are not rechartering, please send me an email to that effect. This saves me much time and follow up wondering what your scout's plans for 2012 are for membership. With regard to adult recharters, the adult committee is still in the process of determining those costs. Last year there was no "early bird incentive" so I would anticipate that as well. Once I have final costs for the adult recharters, I will send the form for those. Just a reminder to the adults, the youth protection training (YPT) must be done every 2 years. So if you have questions whether your YPT is due for renewal, drop me an email. If you have questions, feel free to email me at my personal email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . My home address for returning the recharter sheets and fees is: Patti Vanderwerf, 4314 Doverbrook Ct, Champaign, Il 61822. Thank you for your assistance. 2012 Recharter for AdultsGood evening - Attached is the "Adult" form necessary to complete Troop 101's recharter.
